 Job Purpose: Seeking a fulltime engineer to support of the ecomagination and green energy initiatives, The CLIENT is continuing to expand its presence in the Distributed Control Systems (DCS) market with the vision to be the leading DCS player in the energy market space. Combining the current leading turbine controls with a DCS in the same integrated control platform creates many opportunities to optimize plant performance, increase reliability and availability, or reduce emissions and startup time of power plants. The Engineer will lead and support project teams focused on plant wide solutions for gasified clean coal (IGCC), combined cycle, desalination, simple cycle, and/or Pulverized coal power plants. This role will stretch across three core areas: -Fulfillment: successful execution of total plant solutions. -Structuring: drive automation and standards for improved productivity, cycle time and quality. -Application: provide direction and support to ensure proper technical solution for new applications. Qualifications: -BS degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical or nuclear) or equivalent education plus experience. -More then 3+ years in control system design and/or implementation in the power generation industry related to the Balance of Plant, HRSG and/or Boiler Combustion. -IMPERATIVE TO HAVE MANY YEARS (AT LEAST 3 YEARS) OF EXPERIENCE ON DCS (DISTRIBUTED CONTROL SYSTEMS), INCLUDING OVATION, FOXBORO, BAILEY, OR YOKOGAWA, IF YOU DON’T HAVE THIS EXPERIENCE IT WILL BE USELESS TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION. -KNOWLEDGE IN ALTERNATIVELY PLC SYSTEMS -Strong organizational/ project execution skills and prior success in working with or leading global, cross-functional teams. -Ability to read P&ID drawings and control strategies then interpret these into an efficient and effective control system. -Occasional customer / site travel required. Essential Functions: Work with / Lead a project team and interface with internal and external EPC firms to develop functional control strategies and then design the DCS to accomplish the design requirements. Functional responsibilities will include: -Interface with turbine control teams and other subsystem vendors to ensure complete system integration. -Develop system architecture to ensure reliable plant network designs. -Define and order hardware from system specification. -Develop software and operator graphics from control logic diagrams and/or functional descriptions for the CLIENT Mark VIe DCS platforms. -Support and Lead project meetings with customers. -Lead Factory Acceptance Tests with customers. -Support controls commissioning as required. Typically via e-mail and telephone, but could require site visits. Desired: Operations or Plant design experience in Combined Cycle, Pulverized Coal, IGCC, and/or Nuclear power plant.
